NOTICES!

Kia ora parents and caregivers.  With only four days of Term 4 left we have been a busy school!
School will finish for the term at 3pm on THURSDAY 2 April.
Term 2 will start again on Monday 20  April.  Most of the children in Room 20 have completed their transition period in the Reception Room.  They will be starting Term 2 in our adjoining learning space called Room 19 with 2 teachers for the remainder of the year.  The children are spending time with one of the teachers, Mrs Jayathri Patel, this week.  A letter will be sent to your home address confirming this during the school holidays.

PARENT INFORMATION EVENING: Wednesday 1 April from 7-8.30 pm at the school hall. You can then visit sessions with teachers who will speak, have discussions or presentations on various areas of interest. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided.

MUFTI DAY: Thursday 2 April is Autism Awareness Day and we encourage children to wear rainbow colours instead of their uniform.  A gold coin donation for Autism NZ from children wearing mufti is required.
Iceblocks will also be available from the hall at lunchtime for $2. Please give money to me in the morning.

ANZAC COMMEMORATION: Arahoe School's Anzac Commemoration will be held near our wall of poppies (front field) at 1pm on Thursday 23 April.

LIBRARY BOOKS AND READERS:  All library books and readers are to be returned to school by Wednesday.

SWIMMING: Swimming will take place this Wednesday.  We will restart swimming in Term 4.

CROSS COUNTRY: Arahoe Cross Country will be held on Thursday 5 May (subject to change). Children will need to wear comfortable running shoes and have a change of clothes in case of any muddy accidents.

THANK YOU: A huge thank you to all the parents, caregivers, whanau and families who have helped Room 20 Star Kids be the independent, friendly,  attentive and energetic learners that they are.  An extra special thank you to those parents who have helped with sharpening pencils, swimming sessions, building activities and reading! It takes a community!

Ka kite ano,
Sarah Ellis

OUR LETTER SOUNDS SONG

We are learning our letter names and letter sounds.  Some letters are so clever that they make more than one sound.
