MISS ELLIS GOES SHOPPING

We made pizza dough today. Tomorrow we make the bases and put on the toppings! We are scientists! Miss Ellis is going shopping for our toppings!

Meet Miss Ellis

Hi, my name is Sarah Ellis and I am the Reception Room teacher at Arahoe School. I love my role, supporting our newest learners as they transition into primary school. You can expect to hear a lot of singing, as I love to play guitar and sing. In fact, we start and finish each day with a song!

I have been teaching 5 and 6 year olds at Arahoe School for 5 years and love working with our young tamariki. I am excited about Term 1 as we are going to be learning a lot of neat stuff through Technology and Science. Come and have a look at our kitchen space where we will be cooking up a storm.

Our topic is 'Run, Run as Fast as You Can'. There will be a lot of outdoor fun and running as we adventure through our learning, as well as cooking and chasing gingerbread men!

I am looking forward to meeting you all!

Very Important Dates

Term 1 starts on Thursday 5 February. Waitangi Day is Friday 6 February- a public holiday.

Swimming starts on Wednesday in Week 5. Everyone is expected to be part of our swimming sessions. Please name all clothes, togs, towel and bring a plastic bag! We need 2-3 parent helpers please.

Our library day is on Thursday mornings. Books will be issued from Thursday 19th February. Children need to return books to the green box outside the library door by the end of Wednesday. The library is open before and after school so please visit with your child if you wish.

Parent teacher meetings happen twice a term. They are on Monday 2 March and Tuesday 3 March. You do not have to attend twice a term, in fact it is preferred that you only come once every term or two, to allow all parents opportunity to meet with the teachers.

Wed 4 March- 9am: Indian Parent Community Meeting in staffroom.
